Joan Jacobowski, valued FNBWA Board Member, Passed Away

The Barrens lost a good friend and supporter last week. Joan Jacobowski was a current member of our Board and frequent presenter and survey participant at the Barrens. She was a skilled botanist and photographer, sharing her wildflower photos as greeting cards and presenting information on edible plants at our field days and picnics.

Joan was a keen student and teacher of nature – full of a sense of wonder that she thankfully never outgrew. If there was something interesting going on in northern Wisconsin related to nature, art, music, etc., Joan was apt to be there and always added another spark of fun and insight.

Think of her this summer when the flowers start to bloom in Barrens.
